As Krishna says in the Bhagwad geeta “ Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, offer service to Me, bow down to Me, and you shall certainly reach Me. I promise you because you are My very dear friend.”
Someone revealed to Radha about Krishna dropping His body in Samadhi, Radha didn’t believe it, as she could see Krishna everywhere, in the clouds, in the crows, hear Him in the winds whistling away, feel Him in the Sun rays, the Ganges, smell His aroma when the rain kissed the earth, in the camphor and touch Him in her Bhakti.
Bhakti is fixing your mind on the Lord and then doing everything with detachment. Bhakti is that in which all references of life lead to the narration of the Lord. The point is that mere knowledge of the scriptures cannot lead to final release. Devotion, meditation and worship are essential.
And in Chapter 7 Krishna re-affirms “And he who serves Me with the yoga of unswerving devotion, transcending these qualities [binary opposites, like good and evil, pain and pleasure] is ready for liberation in Brahman.”
